Experience

Janelle Myers is a first generation American born in New York City. She was named after Miss Universe 1977 who was a representative from her family's native island of Trinidad & Tobago and the first woman of color to be crowned. Growing up, Janelle remembers watching the Miss America, Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants every year with her family. As a young adult, Janelle struggled with issues of self esteem and used her community involvement as a distraction from her periods of depression. In 2008 Janelle's pageant career began when she was asked to judge multiple pageants as a community leader then moving on to compete in her first plus pageant in 2012. Janelle won her first national title as Ms. American Beauties Plus in 2014 and has continued to earn national and international titles.

In addition to her pageant consulting business, Pageant Prep with Janelle, she is a Certified Reiki Master, a student of Metaphysical Science, and owner of a holistic/spiritual business. Succulent Wellness provides alternative means of healing and spiritual guidance.

Janelle has a natural passion for bridging gaps and bringing communities together with the Plus Pageants Network which has a following of over 14,000 and rapidly growing. 

"I firmly believe that in order to have opportunities, I'm required to be involved. Being involved in plus pageantry has not only open the eyes of those who may see plus size women in a negative light...but it opened my OWN eyes to the potential and personal power I have over my success and I want to share that with as many women as I can". Janelle continuously expands her Plus Pageant Network make more opportunities to showcase accomplished plus queens and gain the involvement of the general public of the celebration of these women.
